We invent optical tools and techniques to understand biological systems better. In turn, we are curious how the biological systems can be controlled by light and manipulated to generate light. We take multidisciplinary approaches integrating physics, biology, chemistry, bioengineering, and medicine to solve pressing problems in biology and medicine and to satisfy our intellectual curiosity.
